The motto of the club is Fitness and Friendship and the emphasis of the club is to be a community based athletic club. The club has a large road running following with walkers becoming involved in the last few years.

The club house is situated behind the Edgemead Community Hall in Edgemead Drive, Edgemead.

Time-trial: The club has a 5 and 3 km time trial run from the club house on a Tuesday evening at 18:15 from the beginning of September to the end of March. In winter the time trial starts at 18:00. The course is flat and fast and runs through the quiet streets of the Edgemead residential area.

Club runs : Every Thursday from the club at 18h00. Pacing groups for all. We normally run about 10km.

Club Races:
Edgemead Runners organize two races on the Western Province running calendar.

The Edgemead 10km is run on Women's Day on the 9th August. This race is a fast flat course through residential areas in the vicinity of Edgemead.

The Runners' Memorial Race is run on New Years Eve from the Moullie Point lighthouse. This race is run in memory of all runners from the Western Cape, who have passed away in their time as registered road runners. The event is a really nice way to end the year.

Club socials:
A club social and monthly awards evening takes place on the first Tuesday of the month. This is held at the clubhouse directly after the 5km time trial. Other socials are held periodically for specific events or occasions.
