In this section the scientific aspects of various topics
that interest runners will be discussed. What do the scientific
studies tell us about various training techniques and tapering
before races; what is the best drink to use when racing, how
much should we be drinking? What is the effect of altitude
training; what determines running ability? Articles on dehydration;
drinking too much; heat exhaustion and acclimatisation will
all be covered. These and other questions and topics will
be examined in the months to come. If anyone has any interesting
ideas as to what should be included, I will be happy to consider
the topic for a possible article on this page.
