The TYGERBERG NLC section is part of a bigger Tygerberg Athletic Club (with Northlink College as partner) that also has a Track & Field Section with its club facilities just off De Grendel Road, PAROW NORTH. (Near to the Parow circle). We make use of the clubhouse for meetings and socials.

The last two years showed a tremendous influx of new members (over 100 in all!) and our Section now has a membership of over 180. They come from a wide area from Goodwood to Kraaifontein, Richwood to Mitchells Plain and Matroosfontein to Durbanville. Ages vary from 14 to over 70. We pride ourselves in the fact that “We never look down on any other runners and walkers”.

The growth in the Club is mainly attributed to our friendly members and club fees that are the lowest of any unsponsored Club in the WP. Our club colours are yellow and turquoise vests with canary yellow pants. T-Shirts, caps and fleecy tops are available while club tops have to be ordered.

Family Concessions: R120.00 for the 1st member + R100 for each additional member.
Elite Athletes: No Club or licence fees
Elite athletes are members who achieved Gold Standard at any two distances in our Medal Incentive Scheme Table between October and September. Ask for details.

ROAD HARE – PADHAAS

Is our free Newsletter, published every term. It contains news, views, articles, an Activity Calendar and results of races.
We welcome articles about experiences.

TIME TRIALS:
Tuesday at 6.15pm

September to April
5km Time Trials just outside the club grounds.
May to August
5000m Time Trials on the track. weather permitting.
Open to members and outsiders of all ages.

HILL SESSIONS/LONG RUNS:

No set routes but surprise courses along tarred and gravel roads and along park paths and grass embankments.
Very enjoyable. Open to everybody.

GLENRYCK Tygerberg 30km Road Race:
Sunday 21st March 2010, Parow Athletic Track.

CLUB SUPPORT CARD:

We have introduced a Club Support Scheme where members are rewarded for their loyalty towards the club with points. It is NOT a competition, and EVERY member that reaches the Minimum Standard receives a gift.
Period: 1 November 2009-31 October 2010.
At next Year’s Bring ‘n Braai “gifts” are handed over. (Members present confirm the other member’s attendance):

MINIMUM STANDARDS:

35 points which can be earned as follows, from a possible 58 points. One point per event unless otherwise stated.
1. Running TAC Time Trials. A maximum of 10 count points.
2. Attend socials. A maximum of 10 count points.
3. Run identified WP races. A maximum of 20 count points
4. Run Cross Country races. A maximum of 8 count points
5. Complete Comrades 2010 (2pnts).
6. Assist, without running, at our races/walk: @ 3pnts and 5pnts each:
