Kareoke turned Jol

In an effort to raise funds for 10 Comrades runners from UWC Athletics the club hosted a fun filled evening at the Red Room, UWC Sports Stadium.

With a list of names one page long and people awaiting their opportunity to showcase their vocal capacity the crowd could not stop dancing. The effect of the music, which ranged from funk to slow, heavy to jazz, was a dance floor filled with capacity. In the words of the Kareoke DJ "please remember people, this is a kareoke."

We never got to hear Mark singing Sinatra, Walter doing a solo, but we were well entertained by Bronwyn with the voice of angel. Too bad I couldn't fulfil the opportunity to sing Guilty with her. She would've made me look really good, but I just don't know how it goes.

The first bunch only left after 12, such was the party atmosphere. At 2 in the morning the place was still rocking.

Funds generated were from door entries, Curry and Rice and "lekker" boeries sold. My mouth is still watering at the thought of Glynis' curry.

In the end we raised enough funds to supply our team with enough pocket money for the weekend.
