Entries for the 2013 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon trail run have closed after selling out in a record 2 hours for the short course and 24 hours for the long one.
Entries opened on Monday, 3 December 2012 at 10h00 and quickly filled up after hundreds of trail running enthusiasts accessed the Two Oceans Marathon website to claim their spot in next year’s event.
“The trail run is only in its fourth year but is proving to be immensely popular,” says Rowyn James, Race Director of the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon. “We wish to thank entrants for supporting the event and hope that they found the entry process quick, easy and efficient to navigate through. We are looking forward to a fantastic event!”
On offer are a 10km route that is perfect for beginners and a 22km route for the more experienced trail runner. Both runs start at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and take runners along the lower slopes of Devil’s Peak and nearby forests, with inspiring vistas over the peninsula and varied terrain with steep ascents and descents.
The 2013 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon trail run will take place on the morning of Good Friday, 29 March 2013.
