Rated as one of South Africa’s top XTERRA athletes, Stuart Marais (Stellenbosch) is ready for a new challenge as he prepares to take on the 2013 Durbanville Triathlon on Saturday, 04 May 2013.
Marais will go up against reigning champion and fellow XTERRA Warrior, Bradley Weiss. “What would a race be without competition,” laughs Marais. “Brad is a real talent. His hard work and dedication to the sport is showing in his results. We are really good mates on and off the field, so I look forward to racing him in an event he too raves about and enjoys. I have been going pretty well abroad and my form has been solid throughout the first quarter of the year. It will be interesting to see how my body responds after a short break. I do feel confident and look forward to building up to some big races later this year. I always enter a race with the intension of winning. That said if I could come away with a good race, having had some fun along the way, that’s really what it is all about for me”.
