The 2012 Cape Town Marathon on Sunday, 23 September will start in Adderley Street at 06.30am and will take runners towards Rondebosch Common, before looping back to the finish at the Green Point Urban Park.
Centred around Heritage Day, the event also encompasses an 10km race on the Sunday. The 10km race will loop in and around the city centre and surrounds and is an exciting option for runners wishing to run a shorter distance. There will also be a 5km Fun Run and a 5 x 4.2km relay for clubs, companies and schools taking place on Saturday 22 September.
The fast and flat marathon route is a qualifier for the 2013 Comrades and Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and there is an extended eight hour cut-off, allowing first timers and walkers the chance to complete the 42.2km.
The event is supported by the City of Cape Town, Cape Town Tourism and Coca-Cola.
