South African neo-soul singer, songwriter, presenter and actor, Gift Gwe is ready to welcome runners home at the Totalsports Ladies Race in Stellenbosch on Friday, 09 August 2013.<\/p>\n

South Africans fell in love with Gift Gwe during the third season of South African Idols (2005), when he tried out in this famous talent search. Runner up to Karin Kortje, Gift earned the adoration of thousands of fans throughout the country.\u00a0 It was clear just how singularly talented this Queenstown-born, Mosselbay-raised singer was.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always a pleasure to sing for women,\u201d laughs Gift.\u00a0 \u201cThis will be the third time that I work with this event, my first time having been at the Johannesburg race in 2008 and at the Durban race in July this year.\u00a0\u00a0 Performing at the Totalsports Ladies Race in Durban was such a fresh experience.\u00a0 With just over 6000 women excited about life, what a great sight to see.\u00a0 Being on stage was just the cherry on top.\u00a0 This year I also had the privilege of doing the countdown to the start in Durban.\u00a0 I was overwhelmed by the vibe.\u00a0 I am really excited to perform in Stellenbosch as it is closer to home which means I\u2019ll know my crowd and can plan my performance accordingly,\u201d says Gift.<\/p>\n
