Comrades training in Cape Town always becomes rainy.
Its a challenge to chase weekly mileage after being stuck late at work, running club already closed. But you gotta go. Change in the car, head out into rain and spray whipping off the churning sea, streetlights for company.
You do what you gotta do.
But I didn’t expect this year’s winter so early.
Didn’t have to skip one February run because it was too hot. This morning clouds are down close enough to touch. Can’t see the mountain or its slopes.
I mean I really like those late summer sunset runs.
Is it going to be cruel running, tanless glowless from now?
