Doing what it takes

My wife is keen on running Comrades.

The finish line, one last gasp to go

The finish line, one last gasp to go

After 7 years of children she got back on the road.

She needed a qualifier for the Two Oceans marathon as the long training run.  We drove 400+ km to George from Cape Town with the kids, left at 4 am to get to the start  at the Cango Caves for the Infantry School marathon.

She did it.

Now if she wants, she can do even harder, longer runs.

As I’d run a marathon the weekend before, I didn’t need to run then. We raced home, were soon in bed.

5am the net day, I could run two hours of a great Cape Town morning.

We did what it takes so that we can do what it takes.
