gun run 2014

Entries for one of Cape Town’s biggest and most popular road running events, the OUTsurance Kfm Gun Run, have opened and participants can enter online at www.thegunrun.co.za.

The event has already seen nearly 2900 entrants sign up and excitement is building around Cape Town’s fastest growing road race. The Gun Run takes place on Sunday 12 October and participants can choose to take part in the 21.1km half marathon, 10km run/walk or the 5km fun run/walk, aimed at families, younger participants, beginners and walkers.

Last year the event attracted a record field of close to 20 000 participants, and race organiser Atlantic Athletic Club is expecting to host close to 25 000 this year. A brand new innovation is the use of a seeding system for this year’s event. Members of running clubs will be able to line up ahead of temporary licence holders in their own specific pen.

Entries close on Sunday 28 September so participants have more than enough time to get their entries in, and there is no limit to entries in each of the distances. It is pre-entry only for the 21.1km and 10km and no late entries will be accepted.  All the latest up to date event information can be found at www.thegunrun.co.za.  Contact Top Events on 021-511 7130 or info@topevents.co.za.

This year, the OUTsurance Kfm Gun Run is proud to support Ikamva Labantu, a non profit organisation that helps build communities by connecting with leaders, teachers and guardians who are already committed to supporting and uplifting those around them. This is achieved through providing training, teaching and support. Ikamva Labantu works with seniors, orphans and vulnerable children, and in early childhood development and primary healthcare.
