2012 Cape Town Marathon entries open

2012 Cape Town Marathon entries open

Online entries for the 2012 Cape Town Marathon have officially opened. The marathon route offers elite athletes the chance to post a fast marathon time and the eight hour cut-off allows first timers and walkers the chance to complete the distance with no pressure.

The event is a qualifier for the 2013 Comrades and Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and offers participants a fast, flat route starting in Cape Town’s city centre, taking runners out to Rondebosch before looping back to the City via the V&A Waterfront, Sea Point and the Green Point Common.

The marathon and 10km start in Adderley Street at 06h30 and finish on the Green Point Common Fields. The 10km has a two hour cut-off, so walkers are also welcome as they have ample time to complete the event and earn their medal.

The Cape Town 5km Fun Run, at 16h30, and the Cape Town 5 x 4.2km Inter Club / Company / School Relays, at 14h30, take place on Saturday 22 September from the Green Point Common Fields. The events are open to everyone; family, friends, supporters and especially children.
