On Sunday, 20 July 2014 Jenna Challenor will attempt to secure her second Totalsports Ladies Race Durban victory. This Durban North resident claimed gold in the 10km race in 2013 in a lightning fast time of 34 minutes 59 seconds. Returning to the Berea Rovers Sports Club, the Totalsports Ladies Race supports PinkDrive. Entrants can choose between a 10km and 5km fun run and/or walk.
“The Totalsports Ladies Race is fantastic as it honours all the beautiful women in our city,” says Challenor. “I enjoyed the route the most in 2013. It was really stunning, definitely the best route that I’ve ever run in Durban – fast, flat and scenic. The vibe on the day was very happy and enthusiastic”.
“I loved the race so much last year that I just had to enter again this year,” continues Challenor. “I also have to try and defend my title. I’ve been suffering with a hamstring injury, so this will be my first race back. I’m just hoping to enjoy it and am interested to see where I am in my running. I’d recommend this race because it is fast and flat, so you can run a good time. It’s also really nice to have a race that is only for women”.
The much loved Totalsports Ladies Race will support PinkDrive, a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) that is committed to promoting breast cancer awareness and providing breast health education and services to men and women across South Africa.
