World Juniors Wrap Up

South Africa’s junior team finished the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona on a quiet note with no medals added to their tally for the Championships.

Moolman throws Bronze

Morne Moolman bagged South Africa’s second medal at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona when he took bronze in the javelin for men while Justine Palframan broke the 19 year old national record in the 400 metres for junior women.

De Beer wins Junior Bronze

Friday, 13 July 2012 – Gerhard de Beer’s 61.57m in the final of the men’s discus throw, won the first medal for South Africa on the third day of the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain.

Tuesday, 11 July 2012 – Lezaan Jordaan, still a youth athlete, finished ninth overall and produced yet another personal best in the women’s shot put final on the first day of the World Junior Championships in Barcelona.

Thursday, 28 June 2012 – Simon Magakwe won gold in the men’s 100m on day two of the Africa Senior Championships in Benin, the second gold medal for South Africa at the Championships.   He crossed the line in 10.29sec.
