Trail Running World Championships Ireland
2011 saw the first ever team sent by South Africa to a Trail Running World Championships when a team of 5 was sent to Ireland for the July 9 World Ultra Trail Running Championships.
The need to be more involved in the fast growing sport of trail running in South Africa by both ASA and the trail running community has prompted all the parties to get together on 29 October to flesh out how to grow the sport and how get South Africa to be a major player on the World Trail Running Circuit.
The meeting will take place at the Constantia Nek Restaurant Conference Room, in Constantia, Cape Town. It will start at 10:30. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome to do so, but they are requested to register their interest by either contacting ASA President James Evans via email at jtevans @ mweb.co.za or Pieter de Jager at PieterDJ @ athleticssa.co.za.
Trail Running Meeting Cancelled
The scheduled meeting (29 October 2011 in Constantia, Cape Town) between interested parties in trail running and Athletics South Africa has been cancelled.
