Athletics South Africa has announced a junior team of 33 athletes to compete at the CAA Southern Region Junior Championships to take place in Windhoek, Namibia on 28 and 19 April. The date of the Championships has been moved forward and will no longer take place on 4 and 5 May.
Top 8 clubs to battle
Introduced for the first time this year as a competition between the top 8 Track and Field Clubs in South Africa, the Yellow Pages Interclub competition is set to take place at the ABSA Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Thursday 5 April.

Middle distance descends on Stellenbosch
With the first of the three Yellow Pages meetings taking place in Stellenbosch on Tuesday 20 March an exciting showcase may lie ahead in the distance events such as the men’s sprints, 5000m, 1500m and the 3000m steeplechase.
Africa descends on Cape Town
For the second time in two years, Africa’s elite will descend onto Cape Town for the running of the 2nd CAA African Cross Country Championships. On 18 March, 2012 some 173 athletes from 19 countries will be racing around the 2km loop at Keurboom Park for the title of African Cross Country Champion.
Semenya and Record holders in Bellville
Not only Caster Semenya, but also the SA Record holders in the women’s 3000m steeplechase and women’s triple jump will be in action at the final Yellow Pages Interprovincial in Bellville on 3 March.
ASA Announces World Indoor Team
The 8th edition of the World Indoor Championships will be taking place in Istanbul, Turkey from 9-11 March 2012, with South Africa sending a team of four to the championships, Elroy Gelant (3000m), Khotso Mokoena (Long Jump) , Lehann Fourie (60mh)and Burger Lamprechts (Shot Put) have been selected for the Indoor Championships.
North vs South rivalry continues
Gauteng North are currently leading the points standing after the first Yellow Pages Interprovincial Meeting in Germiston on Saturday 25 February. With the second and final leg in Bellville on 3 March, Athletics Gauteng North will be looking to defend their title from 2011 and to pocket the R100 000 going to the winning province.
