Onerun 2015 launch

onerun launch Excitement builds as Cape Town prepares to host what is sure to become one of the largest and most celebrated sporting events in South Africa, the much anticipated FNB CAPE TOWN 12 ONERUN. According to Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, the FNB CAPE TOWN 12 ONERUN is one of the most exciting projects that Stillwater Sports has undertaken in recent years.  “The vision for the event is extremely strong, and with the support of fantastic sponsors, we look forward to a running event that will become one of Cape Town’s most celebrated happenings.  The FNB CAPE TOWN 12 ONERUN aims to create a unique running experience based on international standards.  Both the mass participation elements as well as having the best athletes from South Africa, Africa and around the world are cornerstones of the event.  Most of all however, we want to create an event with the people of Cape Town for the people of Cape Town.  We hope and trust that all Capetonians will be inspired by the running excellence on display so much so that they will take up the challenge and complete the first ever FNB CAPE TOWN 12 ONERUN”. “We are incredibly excited to be part of this race which brings together ordinary citizens and athletes from all walks of life. Road-running is becoming one of the preferred ways of maintaining a healthy lifestyle so we believe that the event presents an opportunity to stay active whilst enjoying the splendour of one of the world’s most beautiful cities. The race finishes at our FNB Portside building, a prominent landmark of the Cape Town inner-city rejuvenation. We would like to encourage every participant to enjoy the race,” adds Stephan Claassen, FNB Business Provincial Head. EVENT INFORMATION: Whether a focused runner or a lover of the outdoors, all entrants can look forward to relishing in the best that Cape Town has to offer.  Experience the thrill of taking on a fast paced 12km route that will guide runners past and through some of Cape Town’s most renowned landmarks.

“KFM is proud to be associated with such an innovative concept. Supporting a race that connects communities within the City at a time when there’s normally less social activity – outside of the peak season – is a very exciting idea,” says Colleen Louw, Station Manager. According to Brett Bellinger, Marketing Director PUMA South Africa, PUMA is very excited to partner with the FNB CAPE TOWN 12 ONERUN.  “Since August 2014 we have been repositioning ourselves as the Brand that is Forever Faster – in all areas from the way we do business to the events and athletes we sponsor. The addition of the FNB CAPE TOWN 12 ONERUN represents a perfect alignment – the course will be fast but the distance is short enough that literally everyone can participate. This is exactly what excites us about the race”.
