It is with great sadness that Athletics South Africa (ASA) has come to learn of the untimely passing of one of its greatest athlete, Mbulaeni Mulaudzi. Mr. Mulaudzi, born on 8th September 1980 tragically passed away on the 24th October 2014.
Semenya maintains Olympic tradition
Monday, 13 August 2012 – Caster Semenya continued the tradition of athletics being the one sport to win a medal at each of the Olympic Games since re-admission, when she finished second in the women’s 800m on Saturday. No other sporting code in South Africa has been able to achieve this milestone.

Semenya Qualifies for London
20 April – Caster Semenya became the fifth track and field athlete to qualify for the Olympic Games after dipping under the 2 minute required in the women’s 800m at Yellow Pages III in Pretoria.

Semenya Silver wraps up success
She saved the best for last. After an up and down season, Caster Semenya came oh so close to successfully defending her title. Only the speed of the Russian Champion, Mariya Savinova prevented her from becoming the first athlete to successfully defend her title since Maria Mutola did it in 2003.
