Women Marathon Title up for Grabs

Wednesday, 30 January 2013 – Around 50 female athletes will travel to Oudtshoorn this Sunday, 3 February, to vie for the coveted title of SA Marathon Champion.  Defending Champion Charne Bosman, has withdrawn from the Championships in order to concentrate on the Two Oceans Marathon.

Gelant celebrates another Cross Country victory

Saturday, 26 January 2013 – SA Cross Country champion Elroy Gelant, won the 12km men’s trials at the Boksburg stadium after delivering a strong performance against a record number of athletes in the field.

Two Oceans Half Marathon 2013 Auction

The last round of entries for the Old Mutual Two Oceans Half Marathon has sold out and 16 000 runners are expected to line up at the start on Saturday 30 March 2013. 

SA Cross Country Trials in Boksburg

Thursday, 10 January 2013 – Entries are still open for the SA Cross Country trials taking place at the Boksburg Stadium in Boksburg on 26 January.  All athletes hoping to compete on the day must enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

SA Junior 100m record smashed

The South African athletics team had an impressive start to the Zone 6 Games in Lusaka, Zambia, winning 11 medals on the first day, of which six were gold.

Kemboi wins Soweto Marathon 2012

Sunday, 4 November 2012 – Kenya’s Shadrack Kemboi won the men’s title at 20th edition of the Soweto Marathon in 2:16:28.  The 26 year-old, along with compatriot Timothy Kibet, lead most of the race, but Kemboi broke away at the 33km mark.

Monday, 17 September 2012 – Entries for the 20th Soweto Marathon are open with just under 20 000 runners expected to compete in the marathon and all other sub events this year.

Mlambo wins PMB 10km

Poppy Mlambo (Bidvest Running Club) cruised through the finish line in top position in today (Sunday, September 9) SPAR Weekend Witness Women’s 10/5km in a time of 35.38 in a record entry field of 3,321.

Mokoka makes history at SA Half

Monday, 27 August 2012 – Stephen Mokoka ran the fastest time ever in South Africa, by a South African athlete, at the SA Half Marathon Championships in Constantia, Cape Town yesterday.  This is applicable to races on unaided courses.
