The last round of entries for the Old Mutual Two Oceans Half Marathon has sold out and 16 000 runners are expected to line up at the start on Saturday 30 March 2013.
Two Oceans Marathon naming rights sponsor Old Mutual is however giving runners one more opportunity to take part in this year’s Half Marathon: a total of 21 Half Marathon entries go on auction from Monday 21 January 2013, with runners bidding for one entry per day over the next 21 days.
Bidding opens at R900 and winners will be announced after each day. Successful bidders will have a chance to start with the professionals as race entries of the winning bids include an ‘A’ seeding. The auction ends on 10 February 2013.
Money raised through the auctions will go to the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI) which provides much needed funding for a select group of charities. TOMI’s primary focus is meeting the education and sporting needs of children, providing and upgrading education facilities and resolving environmental issues involving flora and fauna.
