Evans re-elected president

  Saturday, 9 June 2012 – James Evans was re-elected as President of Athletics South Africa at the quadrennial elections held at the Garden Court OR Tambo with Hendrick Ramaala winning the race for the Vice President.

Athletics South Africa Elections nearby

Athletics South Africa will be holding their quadrennial elections on Saturday, 9 June at the Garden Court OR Tambo, where various positions will be voted for, including that of President and Vice President.

Evans re-elected to IAU Council

Athletics South Africa President, James Evans, has been re-elected for a further four-year term as the Area Representative for Africa and Oceania on the Executive Council of the International Association of Ultra runners (IAU).  He was first elected to the position in 2008.

Southern Region Junior Team Announced

Athletics South Africa has announced a junior team of 33 athletes to compete at the CAA Southern Region Junior Championships to take place in Windhoek, Namibia on 28 and 19 April.  The date of the Championships has been moved forward and will no longer take place on 4 and 5 May.

Pistorius and Comrades Marathon honoured

Athletics South Africa wants to congratulate the Comrades Marathon and Oscar Pistorius, both of whom won awards at the Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards 2012 that took place on 23 February at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

Standards for the Olympic Games

Athletics SA qualifying standards for the Olympic Games During early 2011 Athletics South Africa and SASCOC agreed upon the principle underlying the selection of the athletics component of the Team South Africa to compete at the London Olympic Games in 2012.
